Earl Bridges' Obituary
Mr. Earl Bridges, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in Muskegon. He was born in Marion, Alabama on May 11, 1935 to Jerry and Minnie (Fowlkes) Bridges. Earl was employed by Lakey Foundry for 19 years and CWC Textron as a foreman for 20 years prior to his retirement. He will be remembered as a generous, caring, hardworking man that loved his family. Earl was a talented man that enjoyed repairing cars, working in his garden, and mowing his yard. On May 11, 1953, Earl married the former Elizabeth Pegues in Muskegon and they enjoyed 69 years together. Elizabeth survives him along with their daughter, Wanda Matsey; five grandchildren, Kenyon Bridges, Twyan Bridges-Norman, Laquiwndra (Mohamed Elzab) Bridges, Brandy Bridges, and Matia (Glen Wyrick) Manning; five great-grandchildren; brother, Willie James (Shirley Kay) Bridges; and sister-in-law, Marion Oakes. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Virginia Person and Edna Manning; and siblings, Lucille Patterson, William Bridges, Buella Bridges, Lois Bridges, Walter Bridges, Elizabeth Bridges, Lee Morris Bridges, Virginia Bridges, Bishop Jerry Oakes, Clarence Bridges, John Bridges, Evedee Bridges, and Pearlie May Bowling. SERVICES for Earl Bridges will be held at 12:00PM Friday, May 5, 2023 at Tabernacle Church of God (614 E. River Road, Muskegon, MI 49445). Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery.
