Earl E. "Eddie" Emery's Obituary
Earl E. “Eddie” Emery, age 74, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 due to complication of COVID-19. He was born January 3, 1947 in Muskegon to Edward E. and Theresa M. (Engle) Emery and lived his childhood in Ravenna. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served 2 tours aboard the USS American during the Vietnam War. On September 3, 1991, he married Maxine Timmons in Clearwater Beach, FL, and they were to celebrate 30 years of marriage this year. Eddie first worked at his family’s business as a pattern maker at Ravenna Pattern & Manufacturing. He also later started his own companies, UTI and UDI – Urethane Technology, Inc. and Urethane Devices, Inc. He was a partner with Scott Suits. Eddie owned and operated Moosewa Lodge in Ontario, Canada – a fishing and hunting lodge. He later owned and operated Asgo Corp – a prototype mold shop. From Asgo, he was a partner with Harold Steel and operated Model Technology, Inc. He returned to Ravenna Pattern & Manufacturing for a time as a pattern maker and sales. Eddie worked for a time at Ventura Tool & Die in Grand Rapids, and Viking Tool & Engineering as a tool maker. Eddie was a charter captain and owned and operated Maxed Charters during the past 20 years. Eddie was a strong man of faith with a deep love for Jesus Christ. He lived his faith as a member of Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church. He enjoyed canning, grilling out, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending quality time with his wife, Maxine. He is survived by wife, Maxine Emery; 2 sons, Kurt (Amanda) Emery, Eric Emery; 4 grandchildren, Corbin, Cole, Katlyn, and Everett; 1 sister, Donna (Harry) Jacobs; 3 brothers, Denny (Barb) Emery, Neil (JoAnn) Emery, John (Kim) Emery; Maxine’s siblings, Darlene Bergen, Pam (Richard) Hewitt, Veronica Babcock; nieces, Melissa (Bruce) LeWallen, Lyssa (Brent) Cooper; great-niece, Lauren LeWallen; and great-nephews, Max LeWallen, Evan Cooper, and Logan Cooper. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Tom Emery, and 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Bergen and Jim Babcock. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church, 900 S. Warner Street, Whitehall, MI 49461, with Pastor Tom Beeghly officiating. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required. Military Honors will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Honor Detail from Great Lakes Region of the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 11am-12pm at the church. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church.
