Mr. Earl E. Kersting's Obituary
Mr. Earl Edwin Kersting, age 85, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Muskegon. He was born on July 1, 1933 to Fred and Libbie (Cole) Kersting. A lifelong resident of Muskegon, Earl married his sweetheart, the former Mabel Ann Dake, on May 11, 1957 and they spent 60 wonderful years together before she passed away on March 1, 2018. Earl served his country proudly during the Korean War while in the United States Army. Earl retired from CWC Texton in 1998 after working there for 40 years. He also worked part-time for Sears. He enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, camping and fishing, as well as bowling and listening to music. Earl was active in 4H and acted as a Boy Scout Leader. Earl will be missed by his children, Raymond Kersting, Donald (Kim) Kersting, Gloria (Joe) White and Floyd (Tonya) Kersting; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert (Beverly) Kersting and Cecil Kersting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Ann; granddaughter, Barbara Kersting and parents, Fred and Libbie. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 3 at 10AM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Ave., 231-726-5210. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, October 2 from 6-8PM.
