Earl J. Barton's Obituary
Mr. Earl J. Barton, age 84, entered into glory Monday, April 25, 2005 at his home. Earl loved his Lord and his family with all his heart. He was born February 1, 1921 in Ludington, Michigan to Jesse and Mary Inez Barton. He earned 2 bronze battle stars as a member of the 96th Infantry Division Band, serving in the Phillipines. He married the former Lillian C. Nelson in 1947. They resided in Muskegon since 1953. Earl was an accountant with GTE, DuPont, and Eagle-Ottawa. He was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Muskegon, where he served as a treasurer and choir member. He also attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ludington during the summer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian; his two daughters, Kay (Gregory) Bolduc and Anne (Bruce) Barton-Dempsey, both of Muskegon; nine grandchildren, Nathan Bolduc, Jessica (Mitch) Hodges, Aaron (Emily) Bolduc, Eric, Joshua, and Kyle Ahlquist, Teri VanHall, Sarah Short, and Lillian Dempsey; four great-grandchildren; and several dear brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all in his family. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Lakeside Baptist Church in Muskegon, with Dr. James Carlson and Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
