Mr. Edgar J. Rabe's Obituary
Mr. Edgar Rabe, age 95, passed away Saturday morning, September 6, 2014. He was born December 3, 1918 in Shelby, MI to Carl and Anna (Dzur) Rabe. Mr. Rabe was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he served our country in Germany as a mechanic. On May 23, 1950 he married Velda Gill and she preceded him in death on June 1, 1997. He worked for Andersen Pattern for 28 years before his retirement. He married Delores Petersen on September 22, 2001 and she also preceded him in death in June of 2013. Mr. Rabe was a devoted believer in Jesus, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and put in countless hours serving his church. Up until August 4 of this year, he was able to live independently and also enjoyed woodworking and spending time in his workshop. SURVIVORS include 5 children: Janet (Tom) Herder, Linda (Bill) Bentzen, Karen (Les) Rowsey, Marilyn Miller, Jim (Sally) Rabe; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Harold (Irene) Rabe; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Miller; 3 brothers: Elmer, Lawrence, and Lester Rabe. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Appold officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to Trinity Lutheran Church will be appreciated.
