I grew up hearing stories of what a wonderful guy my mother's brother was; how during the hardest times he could bring joy & laughter. He was such a kind man. I regret that so many years have passed without telling any of you that you, & he, were such need 'soft spots' of kindness in a young girls world of pain. Dear Viola and family,
We were surprised when we received word from Doug Peters that Ed had gone to be with the Lord.
With you we can only rejoice to know that soon we all will be at home with those who will be waiting.
The obituary brought back memories of the times at Military Avenue Church. Barbara especiially remembers the ministry in music of Ed and his brothers. Barbara also remembers baby-sitting for young Edgar when his father was in service.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and relatives. James's dad, who was a friend of Edgar's, went with Alzheimer's in 2001. Dear Vi, Peggy and family,
My heart is saddened with the news of Ed's home going, but I am so very thrilled for him since he is now safely 'home'. I have memories of his friendly greetings at the Maranatha tabernacle, of his laughter, of his pride over his grandchildren, of his white shoes and brightly colored sportcoats, of his kindness and respect to Ron and me. Please know that I am asking the Lord to give you comfort and strength in these days as you continue on without him. May the times together as a family be filled with sweet memories and the joy of such a godly heritage. The Lord is faithful to meet your needs now, as He has done in the past.
Deut. 33:27 proclaims "The Eternal God is our refuge and underneath are the Everlasting arms." Rest in these arms.

When I worked the Tab sound, I would often see Ed sitting just a few rows back, and would go and chat with him about old times. I will miss him, but in God's future, I will indeed chat with Ed again. God's peace be with you, Viola.
