Edith "Dee" Fekken's Obituary
Edith “Dee” Ellen Fekken, age 73, passed away in Fruitport, MI, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Dee was born in Shelby, MI, on November 5, 1952, to Kline and Jeanette (Morin) Robbins. She graduated from Montague High School in 1971 and went on to work as the Deputy Clerk for Grant Township for over 25 years. On March 31, 1973, she married William Fekken, and the two of them spent 52 wonderful years building their family together. Dee was a longtime member at Shiloh Tabernacle Church, where she was involved in their music ministry, their women’s bible study, and for a time was head of their women’s group. Dee loved taking care of her garden and watching the birds that came to visit her. She loved all animals, especially her chihuahua Fluffy. She was a wonderful singer and brought joy to many people over the years with her voice. She was an excellent baker, and her no-bake cookies were beloved by many. She was a passionate, caring woman who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dee will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill Fekken; three daughters: Barbara (Justin) Troyer, Pamela (Joe) Lalonde, and Sarah (David) Neubauer; nine grandchildren: Rebecca (Zach) Ruiz, Eric Moreen, Caitlyn Cecil, Mason Troyer, Mallory Troyer, Gregory Neubauer, Zachary Neubauer, Christopher Neubauer, and Addison Neubauer; sister, Loretta Miller; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Ronald, Carol, Donna, Sandy, Arthur, and Linda.
A Memorial Service will be held for Dee at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Shiloh Tabernacle Church, 460 E. Tyler Rd, Muskegon, MI, 49445. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fredrick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Arrangements entrusted to The Whitehall Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 816 S.
