Edith Bertha Plichta's Obituary
Mrs. Edith Bertha Plichta, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Norton Shores, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on March 27, 1932 to George and Bertha (Kollak) Meister. Edith married George R. Mitchell in 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1989. She then married Ivan Plichta in 1994 and he preceded her in death in 2017. She was employed as a Loan Officer by Muskegon Federal Savings and Loan for 31 years prior to her retirement in 1988. Edith enjoyed spending winters in Florida, bowling, gardening, and delivering for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her nephew, Richard (Kris) Meister and dear friends and caregivers, Tony and Nancy Dunn. In addition to her two husbands, Edith was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ann Meister. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 10:00AM Friday, December 8, 2023 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens (2188 Remembrance Dr., Muskegon, MI 49442). MEMORIALS in memory of Edith may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Tony and Nancy would especially like to thank the staff of Seminole Shores and Careline Hospice for the love and care they gave Edith over the years.
