Edith A. Zimmer's Obituary
Edith Ann Zimmer, age 88, passed away in Grand Rapids, MI, on Friday, August 25, 2023. Edith was born on July 4, 1935, in Muskegon, MI, to Clyde and Virginia (Fish) Hathaway, and she graduated from Ravenna High School. On May 14, 1955, she married Carl Zimmer, and they spent 68 wonderful years together. Edith will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Carl Zimmer; six children: Joe Zimmer, Karen (Dave) Bonter, Eugene (Karen) Zimmer, David Zimmer, Nancy (Adrian) Griffith, and Dan (Tanya) Zimmer; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Virginia Hathaway, and all six of her siblings: Clyde Hathaway, Elmer Hathaway, Neil Hathaway, Germaine Mitchell, Virginia Paprocki, and Colleen Uhrbrock. A FUNERAL MASS will be taking place for Edith at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #297, or The Ravenna Township Fire Department.
