Edmond R. "Ed" Devenport's Obituary
Edmond Ray “Ed” Devenport, age 74, passed away Thursday morning, November 26, 2015. He was born June 13, 1941 in Muskegon to Herbert and Edna (VanPelt) Devenport. Ed worked as a cabinet maker for Amstore for 30 years and retired from Flairwood Inc. On March 21, 1980 he married Norva A. Hasley in Muskegon. Ed loved working in his workshop, spending time with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, and going to the Oakridge Golden Eagles Senior Center. SURVIVORS include 6 children: Deb (Kevin) Ackerman of Muskegon, Dennis (Dave Hillis) Hasley of Muskegon, Lori (Michael) Springstead of Fruitport, Charles (Laura) Devenport of Holland, Ann (Ron) Ferguson of Muskegon, Robert (Sandy) Devenport of Muskegon; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy (Ken) Ingersoll of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Sharon Maycroft of Muskegon; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Devenport was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edna Devenport. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 4-8 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning.
