Mrs. Edna M. Chick's Obituary
Mrs. Edna M. Chick, age 79, met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. She was born on December 13, 1941 to Edward and Joanna (Sharnowski) Furst in Muskegon, MI and has remained a resident. She graduated from Catholic Central high school class of 1959. Edna worked for numerous places such as Sacred Heart Catholic Church, State Farm, Farm Bureau Insurance and Entrepreneur Inc, where she specialized in clerical work. On June 3, 1961, she married the love her life, Charles “Chuck” Chick at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 60 years, full of love and laughter. She was a faithful servant of Our Lord and Savior and was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. In her earlier years, Edna participated in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and was also part of the Muskegon Area Woman’s Network (MAWN). She had a talent for knitting, but also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She looked forward to her usual Sunday drives with Chuck. Above all things, she truly loved spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. Edna’s vivacious and bubbly personality will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Charles Chick; 3 children, Ann (Jeff) Wisniewski, Paul Chick and Kathy (Joe) Locke; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Debbie) Furst, Dan (Kathy) Furst and Michael (Maureen) Furst; sister, Carol Hodges; daughter-in-law, Michelle Chick; and sister-in-law, Nancy Abraham. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, James Chick; and 2 brothers-in-law, Ed Hodges and Michael Abraham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445. A visitation will be held one-hour prior at church. A Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021 with a rosary at 6:30 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Memorial Contribution’s in Edna’s name can be made directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Share memories with the family at www.sytsemafh.com.
