Sending hugs of love filled with sincere condolences. Mother Edna, was an unforgettable and elegant woman of class with nuggets of wisdom for everyone she encountered. A beautiful soul at rest.
His Eminence Archbishop Frumentius,
May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and all who mourn during this time of loss. On behalf of the Ethiopian Orthodox Archdiocese of the Caribbean, I extend my heartfelt condolences. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace and find repose in the arms of the Almighty.
As we reflect on this passing, we are reminded of the hope of the resurrection. The Scriptures affirm, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die" (John 11:25-26).
May Mama Edna be remembered eternally, and may God grant comfort and strength to the bereaved. In the prayers of the Church, we will continue to lift up their soul, entrusting them to the mercy of God.
In Christ’s peace and love,
+ Frumentius

It is a heartbreak my most favorite and greatest mentor has passed. I ❤️ my
Grandmother to the fullest.
Through rough obstacles and hardships in life, whenever she had a moment to visit, she'd always speak to me with encouragement. In addition, I was so happy to see her after my graduation ceremony high school (2015) and celebrate my college graduation (2020).
All the memories with my Granny Edna I will always cherish and be thankful I had with her.
Her greatest lectures to me were of teaching me importance of speech and strength of the mind.
3 quotes that come into mind, in looking back, from talking with her:
1) Proverbs 4:23:
" Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life. "
(Remember to read Proverbs grandson... It's good for ya. Help keep your mind and spirit strengthen) 😇🥰
2) " The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. "
(Theodor Seuss Geisel - aka Dr. Seuss)
3) " It is in no man's power to have whatever he wants, but he has it in his power not to wish for what he hasn't got, and cheerfully make the most of the things that do come his way." (Seneca - Philosopher)
4) Our favorite slogan game - (Who said it 1st?)"
"OHHH Baby!!!... Gotcha that time. 😎🥰 Look at my handsome Grandson. Yeah!!! Smile and always shine bright grandson. I ❤️ you and remember you will and can achieve what you put your heart to." 👵 Granny Edna D. Evans🕊
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived RIH Mother Evans
