Edna Mae Hunter's Obituary
Mrs. Edna Mae Hunter, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born in Forrest City, Arkansas to Arte and Claudia (McLemore) Terrell. Edna was employed by Verizon for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading, travelling with L.V., eating “and percolating”, and watching Westerns. Edna also enjoyed being outdoors, nature, and gardening with Beverly. She married L.V. “Bro” Hunter in 1962 and he preceded her in death in 2021. Edna is survived by children, Larry Johnson, Mark Johnson, Faye Johnson, Henry Zachary, Beverly Wells, Etta (Tony) Knox-Kilpatrick, Alvina (Charles) Bussy, Bruce Hunter, Tommy Hunter, Derrek Dozier, Kim (Roy) Collins, and Dexter (Erica) Hunter; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jacqueline Smith, Willo Dean Terrell, Carolyn Mitchell, Sandra Sydnor; and two brothers, Melvin Terrell and Calvin Terrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.V. “Bro” Hunter; daughter, Rainnell Sherrod; and son-in-law, Ray Wells. SERVICES for Edna will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 25, 2023 at Phillip Chapel (2145 Dyson St. Muskegon Heights, MI) with Rev. Anita McCants officiating. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Edna may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
