Edna Marod's Obituary
Edna Jean Marod, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, January 7, 2006 at a Grand Haven nursing home. She was born July 2, 1916 to Herman and Jeanette (VanderMeiden) Volkema in Grand Haven. Edna married Edward Asa Marod January 18, 1946 in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death in 1959. Edna had been an area resident all of her life and had worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Camfield’s, Ottawa Steel and the Pizza and Sub Shop. She was a former member of First Reformed Church and enjoyed hiking, dune climbing, still-life and landscape painting and enjoying her grandchildren. Survivors include: her 2 sons, Edward A. (Barbara) Marod of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and David L. (Gloria) Marod of Minneola, FL; 4 grandchildren, Megan L. Marod of New York, NY, Michael E. Marod of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Melissa (Jeromy) Moses of Clermont, FL, Melanie Marod of Grand Haven; one great grand daughter Sophia Moses of Clermont, FL; her sisters-in-law, Rose Secory of Spring Lake and Annette Volkema of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers Howard and Owen Volkema preceded her in death.
