George and family, our sympathy to the whole family, Edna is finally home. Gary and I visited here the day before she passed away, I treasure that memory. She made me a Christmas table runner and I will cherish it forever. I also have great memories of my visits with her and how we laughed and laughed.
Edna was always a special lady to me. As a young girl, I spent a lot of time at her house with the Merz family. Ruth Ann & I we’re quite close then. But over the years, I did Edna’s hair, & we still shared memories of those days. When I retired, I missed her! My thoughts & prayers go out to the family. Hers was a beautiful life, well lived!
Aunt Ruth Ann and Uncle Gary. Just got home from my walk and heard about the loss of your mom. We had the pleasure of meeting Her at Linda's wedding and the next day when we were all together at your house to share a large pot of chili. Such a strong and wonderful lady. Know that we will be thinking of you today and all the days ahead as you go through the grieving process. Love you. Doug and Cathy.
“My Aunt Edna”
Aunt Edna was a sister, a sweet mother & a wife,
She never, ever, sat still a day in her life.
There wasn’t a person she didn’t know in town,
It’s not a surprise, she was known all around.
Her sisters loved her, they called her “sarge”,
Things got done when Edna was in charge.
Each niece and nephew she loved as her own,
With Aunt Edna around you were never alone.
How fun and exciting during her football games,
Watching TV with her, was never the same.
She’d whoop and holler even make a bet,
Those Lions just might win a super bowl yet.
Aunt Edna loved to polka and do a line dance,
She was first to floor when she got the chance.
One couldn’t have a more busier agenda,
Oh, how we love you, my dear Aunt Edna,
We know this Aunt was one in a million.
After all, she could handle her six children!
Raise your glass to her 95 years of life,
To one hell of a woman, mother & wife!
As you go home today, remember one thing,
Aunt Edna was loved more than anything.
We will miss you.
