Edna Swanson's Obituary
Mrs. Edna M. Swanson, age 101, passed away Saturday evening, December 25, 2005 at a local nursing home. She was born September 27, 1903 to Fredrick and Catherine (Lewis) Meurer in Muskegon, and lived almost all of her life here. She was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church, and many years ago had owned her own beauty shop in the Whitehall area. She married Joseph E. Swanson on October 3, 1931 in Manistee, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1988. She was the second of nine children and is SURVIVED by 2 sisters, Emma Heinecke of Muskegon, Margaret (Charles) Benedict of Muskegon; 15 nieces and nephews; a special friend, Frances Anderson of Muskegon. She was also preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters, Ella Fenner, Clara Branch, Clifford Meurer, Edward Meurer, Katheryn Hagen, and Maxine Bohland. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at
The Walburn Chapel,Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,1547 W. Sherman Blvd.,(231) 759-8565 with Reverend Paul Bengtson officiating. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions to the Muskegon Rescue Mission will be appreciated.
