Edna M. Szymanski's Obituary
Mrs. Edna M. Szymanski, age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Spring Lake. She was born on April 15, 1922 in Big Rapids, MI to George “Clyde” and Esther (Carlson) Bullman. Edna married Steve Szymanski on May 15, 1946 in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2007. Edna worked at Reeths-Puffer School for several years in the payroll department. Edna loved spending time with her family and was an excellent cook. She had a giving heart and was the ultimate caregiver, doing whatever she could to help others in their time of need. Edna always stayed true to her faith and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and most recently a member of Northside Bible Church. Edna will be deeply missed by her children, Steve Szymanski, Stanley (Mary Jo) Szymanski and Nancy Szymanski; sister-in-law, Phyllis Oza; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Along with her husband, Steve, Edna was also preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Esther and sister, Ellen (Harold) LeTarte. A Graveside Service will be held at Hungerford Cemetery in the springtime. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heartwood Lodge for their professional and kind care of Edna, as well as Dr. Gregory Downer for his excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edna’s memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Please feel free to visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
