Edna Marie Travis Lamphere's Obituary
Edna Marie Travis Lamphere, age 94, passed away December 3, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. She was born January 1, 1911 in Muskegon, MI to LeRoy and Lily (Wood) Travis. She married Lincoln Lamphere on October 3, 1929. They shared 59 years of marriage together and they spent many wonderful years traveling throughout the United States. He preceded her in death in 1988. Edna retired from Continental Motors in 1972 and later in life worked as a demonstrator for Show and Tell at Meijers. Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her family and friends were her love and life. Edna was full of life, energetic, and resilient. She loved flowers blooming in spring, traveling and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. She had been a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. Edna was also preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Lincoln and Shirley Lamphere in 1981; her brother, Thomas Travis; and sister, Evelyn Druif in 2004. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Sally (Charles) Schilz; sister-in-law, Maxine Travis; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Edna’s life and memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2005 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 2065 W. Giles Rd., N. Muskegon, 49445.
