Mr. Edward J. Cady's Obituary
Mr. Edward J. Cady, 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, April 8, 2015 at his home. He was born June 9, 1935 to Arthur and Grace (Hamilton) Cady in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and moved to Muskegon from Holly, MI in 1955. Ed was in the National Guard, was an avid gardener, belonged to the Puddle Jumpers Car Club and the Antique Car Club. He was a well-respected brick layer and was the owner/operator of the Ed Cady Construction Company. He was also a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for 60 years. On June 4, 1955 Ed married Marilyn J. Rau, and she preceded him in death on October 19, 1997. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Carrie Cathleen Cady, Susan Renee Cady, Daniel William (Linda) Cady; Grandchildren, Melissa (Gary) Randles, Amanda (Troy) Sibley, Michael Cady and Step-Granddaughter Ashleigh (Kyle) Rieger; 4 great-grandchildren who he loved spending time with and going to their school sporting events, Dakota, Caleb, Grace and Bristen; 1 brother, Arthur Cady; 1 sister, Marilyn (Richard) Scott. Ed was also preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings; and his son, Michael E. Cady. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 14, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1215 Apple Ave. Visitation at the Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., will be from 6-8 PM Monday evening, and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
