Edward Lee Higgins' Obituary
Edward Lee “Ed” Higgins, age 59, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born January 8, 1964 in Muskegon to William and Joyce (Beedon) Higgins and was a lifelong resident of the area. Ed was the owner and operator of several area businesses, including ASAP Towing and Recovery and also owned numerous rental home properties in the area. Ed was active with the Salvation Army and the Michigan Towing Association. Survivors include his son, Nicholas (significant other, Shannon Basarabski) Higgins and his daughter, Riley; his son, Keith Higgins; his daughter, Crystal (Rocky) Shavalier and her children, Rocky, twins Amelia and Cambri, and Zoey; his significant other, Robin Lynn Smith and her sons, Robert and Daniel Smith; 3 brothers, Bruce(Sheri) Higgins, Steve Higgins, Paul Higgins; and 2 sisters, Gwen (Ron) O’Neil and Rita Keil. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be planned for later this summer.
