Edward John Hvizdos' Obituary
Mr. Edward John Hvizdos, age 95, passed away early Monday, June 14, 2021. He was born on April 28, 1926 to Stephen and Ann (Veno) Hvizdos in Dearh, PA. He was a proud veteran serving his county in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. On June 19, 1971 he married the former Barbara Swarthout in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 48 years of marriage full of love and laughter. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2020. Edward had been employed by the Chrysler/Dodge Dealership working as an auto mechanic for 40+ years prior to his retirement in 1986. He was a life member of the VFW Post #446 and attended Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling around the United States with his wife in their motorhome. He also enjoyed spending winters at their home in Zephyrhills, Florida. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his three children, Edward L. (Kimberly) Hvizdos, Sandra (Dan) Thiele, and Brian (Ellen) Hvizdos; three stepchildren, Walter (Vergie) Humy, Leandra Boggan, and Steven (Deborah) Humy; 2 sisters, Dorothy Young and Frances Hvizdos; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, Stuart Humy; and brother-in-law, Lionel “Bud” Young. According to Edward’s wishes, PRIVATE SERVICES will be held. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in his memory may be directed to the Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church.
