Mr. Edward "Jack" Fortenbacher's Obituary
Edward John “Jack” Fortenbacher, age 90, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. He was born May 4, 1927 in Muskegon, MI. to Winfred (Fritz) and Emma Fortenbacher. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved to design and build machines. He served the foundry industry with this passion for 68 years. He and Jill have been active members of the West Michigan Boot Scooters for 25 years. Jack enjoyed dancing, sailing (especially in the BVI), laughing and joking with friends, family and complete strangers. Jack was a redeemed member of the New Life Community Church Family where he will be missed by all. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Jill; and his sons, Dan (Suzanne) Fortenbacher, Jeffrey Alan (Corinne) Fortenbacher, Craig (Kathy) Fortenbacher, Bradley (Patsy) Fortenbacher and Jeffrey Scott Fortenbacher; grandchildren; Andy, Rebecca, Charles, Oliver, Aaron, Austin, Taylor, Mary, Eddie, Neil, Megan, Kelly, Katie, Jay and Grant; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas (Janet) Fortenbacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Emma; and brother, James Fortenbacher. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 3PM at New Life Community Church (4095 Grand Haven Rd., Norton Shores). Visitation with the family will be from 1:30-3, before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Community Church.
