I am so inspired reading this beautiful obituary written for a wonderful man. Cheers to a life well lived and all of the lucky hearts he touched along the way. I want to live like he did!
I met Ed way back in 1955, still single and brand new to Grand Haven. Ed rapidly became my mentor and best friend. Our paths separated over the years, but Ed always remained # 1 in my friendship rankings.
I Love you Grandpa there are so many memories that we have shared together you and Max and me took Briana fishing for the first time into the beach where she was scared to put her feet down because she was scared of the sand I remember coming to see you for Thanksgiving and spending Thanksgiving with you and Grandma we love so much and you will forever be missed but never forgotten
I have so many fond memories of Uncle Ed, but the one that sticks in my mind the most has to do with a chicken. When he and Aunt Lynne were visiting my family in San Diego, we had some chicks hatch. Some of the grown chickens pecked the leg of a newborn baby chick, breaking it. Uncle Ed grabbed the chick and splint its leg with two popsicle sticks. He put it in a box in our house and tended to that chick for the duration of his visit. We named that chick Uncle Ed in his honor even though it turned out she was a hen!
I love you, Uncle. You will be missed greatly ❤️
