Mr. Edward Earl Malott's Obituary
Mr. Edward Earl Malott, age 86, passed away Saturday morning, August 22, 2015 at a local care facility. He was born February 21, 1929 in Russell, Arkansas to Prentice and Annie (Adams) Malott. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On January 17, 1953, He married the former Opal M. Willamson in Grandville, MI and she survives him. Ed was employed at several body shops throughout the years, starting in the early Fifties; becoming body shop manager and estimator for Coachman Body Shop, where he worked for many of those years until his retirement in 1994. He is a member of the VFW Post #7729, and also helped there with custodial work. In addition to Opal, his wife of 62 years, Ed is survived by his sons, Gerald E. (Melissa) Malott of Muskegon, Larry (Melinda) Malott of Deerfield, MI, and Donald (Glendora)Malott of Lambertsville, MI; 7 grandchildren, Greta (Mike) Alsten, Eeryn Malott, Erik Malott ,Carly Malott , Nick Malott, Michelle Morter, and Ryan Malott; 5 great grandchildren, Matthew, Caleb, and Hallie Rose Alsten, Weslley and Addison Malott; a brother, Dorsene (Betty) Malott of Memphis TN; a sister, Wanda Becker of Russellville, AK; and several nieces and nephews. Ed was predceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210.
