Mr. Edward Earl Mitchell Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Edward Earl Mitchell, age 76, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his home under the care of Harbor Hospice. Mr. Mitchell was born October 24, 1935 to Ivan and Irene (Anderson) Mitchell in Reed City, MI. He was a manager at Eberhard Foods for 26 years and then was employed by Michigan Spring before retiring in 2001. He had attended Friendship Wesleyan Church. On August 28, 1954 he married the former Patsy Ann Green in Muskegon. Ed loved to hunt and garden but most of all he loved being with his family. He is SURVIVED by his wife of 57 years, Pat; 6 children, Vicki (Chuck) Whiting of Charlotte, MI, Patricia (Paul) Christiansen of Muskegon, Cari (Randy) McMichael of Jenison, Edward E. Mitchell, Jr., Kelly (Cameron) Powles and Tammy (Michael) Hiner, all of Muskegon; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Maynard (Nancy) Mitchell of Twin Lake and Chester (Yvonne) Mitchell of Shelby; his sisters, Maxine (Roger) Mengel of Holton and Shirley (Ronald) Prentkiewicz of Hesperia; and many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Delores Ritz. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00AM Monday, July 30, 2012 at Friendship Wesleyan Church, (1761 N. Roberts Rd.) with Pastor Chad Fessenden officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11AM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in Ed’s name may be made to Harbor Hospice or Friendship Wesleyan Church.
