Edward "Ed" M. Jacoby, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Edward “Ed” M. Jacoby, Jr., age 66, passed away after a courageous bout of cancer, Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Poppen House. He was born on January 13, 1941 in Muskegon to Edward M. Sr. and Verna L. (Johnson) Jacoby, and had resided in the West Michigan area for all of his life. Ed worked as a journeyman meat cutter to put himself through Ferris State University Pharmacy School, where he belonged to the Kappa Psi Fraternity. He worked for over 40 years as a Pharmacist in the area before retiring in 2005. Ed was always a great teaser with a delightful smile and a fun sense of humor. He loved to fish, and spend time with family and friends. He was a wonderful patient man, who was always teaching in his actions. Ed was always proud of his daughters and grandchildren. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters, Terese (Martin) Wunsch of Spring Lake, Rhonda (Mark) Jacoby-Butzow and Wendy (Greg) Elwell both of N. Muskegon. He was “Pops” to his grandchildren, Megan, Mark, Kylie, Andrew, Ava; and great granddaughter, Jocelyn; is also survived by his sister, Yvonne (Robert) Ochmanski of Clinton Twp., and several nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronald “Ron” Jacoby. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 2:02 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor Sarah Samuelson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice Poppen House, or the National Wildlife Federation will be appreciated.
