Edward George Inglat's Obituary
Mr. Edward George Inglat, age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away Saturday afternoon, July 24, 2010. He was born in Muskegon on May 5, 1928 to George and Sophia (Flejszar) Inglat and was a life long resident. Following graduation from Muskegon H.S., Edward joined the U.S. Army and served honorably following WWII in Japan. Upon his discharge from the military, he worked for the City of Muskegon’s Police Dept. where his skills as a scuba diver were often called upon. Mr. Inglat also attended the Kendall School of Art in Grand Rapids, and was co-owner of Maple Lanes Bowling Center, which was initially owned by his mother and father. On July 3, 1954, in Muskegon, he married the love of his life, Lorraine Edna Voyt, who preceded him in death on April 3, 2004. Edward found great strength in his faith and was a long time member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He had an unconditional love for his family, a passion for learning about nature and a sense of adventure which he shared with his children. His love of travel, especially when accompanied by his dear wife Lorraine, illustrated his deep wonder of the world, which included: halibut fishing in Alaska, a trip to his family roots in Poland, deep-sea diving in the Gulf of Mexico and the waters off the island of Bali. He was a self-taught scuba enthusiast, took flying lessons, relished canoeing many of Michigan’s rivers and enjoyed skiing, sailing, boating and many camping expeditions with his family. In later years, he enjoyed spending time with family, traveling in his motorhome, and had an overall great love for life. He is survived by: three daughters, Roseanne M. Inglat-Sinn of Helena, MT, Marie J. Inglat of Houston, TX and Elizabeth A. Inglat of Lakenheath AFB in England; four sons, Brian E. (Sally) Inglat of Muskegon, James M. Inglat, working overseas in Kuwait, Robert A. Inglat of San Diego, CA and Ronald J. (Amy) Inglat of Roosevelt Park; six grandchildren, Renee Sinn, Jonathan (Katie), Andrew, Holly, Connor and Ryan Inglat; one great-grandson, Logan Sinn; special nephew, Dr. Ronald Komarek; many cousins; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary and her husband Alex Komarek, a sister, Genevieve Kowalski and his brother, Walter.
