Edward H. Drabik's Obituary
Mr. Edward H. Drabik, age 88 passed away Thursday evening April 22, 2010, at his home. Ed was born September 29, 1921 to Mathew and Sophia (Wojton) Drabik in Muskegon Heights. Upon completion of high school, Edward served his Country in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, becoming a Lieutenant Colonel prior to retiring and returning to Muskegon in 1969. He then worked in the employment office of Shaw Walker for 5 years prior to his retirement in 1975. On September 21, 1944, Edward married the former Ardis Louis Scott in Langley Field, VA. and she survives him. Ed was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Military Officers of America, American Legion Post #9, V F W # 3195, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11, American Ex- Prisoners of War, Lakeside Veterans, and the Vikings Linne Lodge #57. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing cribbage. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Ardis ,Edward is survived by his 2 daughters, Susan (William) Gray of Spring Lake, and Cindy (James) Strzalko of Oviedo, FL; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Gray of Lansing, MI and Josh (Brooke) Strzalko of Oviedo, FL; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bernice Ortowski and Lenore (Art) Wlodkowski, all of Wellston, MI; and several nieces and nephews. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 10:00 AM
Monday, April 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (451 S. Getty St.) with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (9-10 AM) at the church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with full Military Rites under the auspices of VFW # 3195. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Mercy VNS Hospice Services Share memories with the family at their on-line guest book @ www.sytsemafh.com. Arrangements by
