Edward H. Wilhelms' Obituary
Mr. Edward H. Wilhelms, age 84, passed away Monday afternoon, December 27, 2010. He was born July 15, 1926 in Freeport, IL to William and Mary (Carbiener) Wilhelms. Mr. Wilhelms was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, and graduated from Purdue University in 1949 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for Dresser Industries and Lift Tech for 35 years before retiring in 1991. Mr. Wilhelms was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a life-member and past Master of the Masonic Lovell Moore Lodge #182 F. & A.M. On February 1, 1948 he married Juanita L. Klapp in Freeport, IL and she preceded him in death on October 31, 2003. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Tybo (Mary Jo) Wilhelms of Toledo, OH, Cynthia Barefoot of Norton Shores; 3 grandchildren, Andrew (Valerie) Wilhelms, Jason (Sarah) Wilhelms, Anthony (Jennifer) Flannery; 5 great-grandchildren, Bretyn and Jadyn Flannery, Jada, Addison, and Finn Wilhelms; brother-in-law, Zael (Donna) Klapp of Freeport, IL; and his niece, Suzan. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Wilhelms, and son-in-law, Larry Barefoot. SERVICES will be 10:00 AM Friday at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane L. Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be from 4-8 PM Thursday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W.
