Edward H. "Big Ed" Hoisington's Obituary
Mr. Edward H. “Big Ed” Hoisington, age 77, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at home. He was born September 27, 1932 in Muskegon to Frank and Marietta (Carter) Hoisington, and resided in the area all of his life. Ed was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, and worked 44 years at SD Warren. He enjoyed flying and playing softball for many years. On April 17, 1989 he married the former Phyllis Jones and she survives him along with 5 sons, Paul (Mary) Hoisington of Auburn, MI, Edward (Laurie) Hoisington, Jr. of Virginia, Terrence (Sandra) Hoisington of Auburn, MI, Patrick Hoisington of Muskegon, and Gerald (Shannon) Hoisington of Roosevelt Park, MI; step-daughter, Kristen Goodin of Muskegon; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers, Frank Hoisington, Harold Hoisington, Thomas Hoisington, and “Tiny” Hoisington. The FUNERAL SERVICES will be 1PM Saturday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 12-1PM. Memorial Contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
