Edward LJ Young's Obituary
Mr. Edward LJ Young, age 78, passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2006 in Muskegon. He was born February 23, 1928 to Edward F. and Carrie (Russell) Young in Muskegon Heights, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. He wintered in Florida with the Snowbirds at the Wagon Wheel RV Park. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, and camping up north with his family. Mr. Young was a U.S. Navy veteran, was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and was retired from Neway. Following his retirement, he owned and operated Cooper Machine and Welding, Inc. He married the former Marcia E. Dodson on March 4, 1950, and she preceded him in death on May 22, 1997. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Edward F. Young of Muskegon, Gary A. (Liz) Young of Erie, PA, Cheryl R. (Steve) Reames of Muskegon, Jeffrey L. Young of Twin Lake, Doris A. (Michael) Dowdy of Muskegon; many grand and great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Lila (Donald) Dobberstein of Muskegon; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Marian Thomas, Ethel Cline, and Agnes Olson. A private family graveside service will be held. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2006. Contact the family for details of this gathering.
