Edwin Wayne "Ed" Simmons' Obituary
Mr. Edwin Wayne “Ed” Simmons, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on August 23, 1955 to Richard and Lucinda (Hite) Simmons. On October 24, 1981, Ed married the former Lisa M. Williams in Muskegon. He was employed in custodial services at Muskegon Community College for more than 30 years, retiring in 2012. Ed volunteered on the Muskegon Board of Appeals. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, maintaining a pristine yard, and watching NASCAR and hockey with his wife. In his younger days, he loved driving his Pontiac GTO. Ed also had an extensive collection of Budweiser memorabilia. He had a soft spot in his heart for cats, and over the years, he and Lisa adopted several rescue cats. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lisa; daughter, Kaitlyn Simmons; brother, Greg (Sandy) Simmons; sister-in-law, Lori Muttart; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Patricia Williams; and siblings, Jim Simmons, Steve Simmons, and Cindy Minzey. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will he held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 with VISITATION one hour prior to his service.
