Edwin J. Ackerman's Obituary
Mr. Edwin J. Ackerman, age 47, passed away Monday morning, September 22, 2008 following a motorcycle accident that occurred Sunday evening on his way to work. He was currently employed at CWC Textron as the Third Shift Maintenance Supervisor, machining was a trade he learned from his father at a young age. He was born October 19, 1960 in Muskegon to Bert and Norene (Butterfield) Ackerman and was a graduate of Fruitport High School in 1979. Ed was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Muskegon American Legion Lamb-Friend Post #9, the Muskegon County Sheriffs Posse, and was also a volunteer fireman for the Holton Fire Department as a Lieutenant. Motorcycles were his passion. He also enjoyed hunting with his son, and had enjoyed a round of golf the morning of the accident. On December 27, 1982 he married the former Donna Zuder in Muskegon and she survives him along with his son, Christopher Ackerman of Fremont; parents, Bert and Norene Ackerman of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Theresa Vanderstelt of Muskegon, Julie (Rick) Robbins of Norton Shores; 7 nieces and nephews.
