Elaine Cleven, age 87, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Heartwood Lodge. She was born June 20, 1930 in St. Joseph to Glenn and Beatrice (Rinehart) Clark. Her husband Alfred W. Evans II passed away in 1973. Read Obituary
Saddened to hear we lost Elaine. She was a loyal customer that we loved to visit with. Our dog, Joey, loved to see Elaine and would often greet her in the parking lot - before she could even get out of her car! I think she came in more to see Joey than to shop! She will be missed by all.
We are so very saddened to read of the death of your dear loved one. Please accept my family's heartfelt condolences. Out of all the things that afflict humans, the pain of death is truly indescribable. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that The Almighty God promises in his word The Bible, that shortly He will wipe every tear from our eyes, and death...will be no more.

My wife, Carol and I, lived next door to Elaine and C.E. from 1988-99. Elaine was a source of encouragement as we raised our two sons and she loved our Springer Spaniel, Odie. We shared many afternoons and evenings on THE FRONT PORCH and meals and holiday gatherings. Elaine was a unique and positive lady and a beloved friend. May our Lord richly bless y'all during this time and during the grief process. Mohawk Drive and the nature preserve are special!
