Mrs. Elaine R. Knoll's Obituary
Mrs. Elaine R. Knoll, age 83, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. She was born August 30, 1929 in Borculo, to Ralph and Winnie (Dys) Steigenga.
Elaine’s life was centered in Jesus. She modeled Christ’s love to her husband, family, friends, and in her passion for caring for others through her nursing.
She was a member of Ferrysburg Community Church and was a volunteer with Love INC. She was a nurse for many years working for Dr. Veenstra and for Dr. Ottenbaker before retiring in 2002, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
On January 26, 1951 she married her husband of over 61 years, Edward Knoll, in Borculo and he survives her along with 2 children: Gregory (Joyce) Knoll of Clayton, NC and Steven (Ann) Knoll of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren: Timothy Knoll, Jonathan Knoll, Christopher (Stacy) Knoll and Mitchell Knoll; 1 great-grandson, Mason Knoll, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Jake (Harriet) Steigenga and Jim (Jeanette) Steigenga; 3 sisters: Ella (Frank) Assink, Clara (Garrett) Lubbers, and Iva (Ray) Steenwyk.
A memorial service will be held 4 PM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Ferrysburg Community Church, 17785 Mohawk Drive, with Rev. Nathan Visker officiating. Visitation will be 6-7:30 PM Friday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven.
