Elaine Alice Stauter's Obituary
Mrs. Elaine Alice Stauter, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at her home in Muskegon Heights. She was born in Muskegon on July 7, 1937 to William and Alice (Juhnke) Fletcher. Elaine was a proud Muskegon Heights Tiger, class of 1956. On September 21, 1957, she married David C. Stauter Sr. in Muskegon Heights and he preceded her in death in 1997. Elaine was a founding member of the West Shore CB Radio Club. Through the club she spent numerous hours volunteering in the community including raising the money to purchase the first “Jaws-of-life” for Muskegon. She also spent over 30 years as a veteran BINGO co-chair and volunteer with the WSCBRC, Hile Recreation Association, and Vans Community Flyers games. Elaine enjoyed knitting, arts and crafts, and animals. She is survived by her children, William Stauter and Delaina (Carl Payne) Peters; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Amber) Davis, Richard (Brandy) Stauter, Johnathon (Virginia Alexander) Stauter, Joseph Stauter, Jennifer Stauter, Dalice (Christopher II) Carpenter, and Heather (Ashley Moore) Peters; eight great-grandchildren, Richard Jr., Kathleen, Melanie, Shayla, Oliver, Mason, Christopher III, and Axel; sister-in-law, Mary Fletcher; nieces and nephews, Gary (Vanessa) Fletcher, James (Michelle) Fletcher, Nancy Spira, and Becki (Kelly McCargar) Fletcher Graham; and her beloved dogs, Chantilly Lace and Dakota Blaze. In addition to her husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Stauter Jr.; infant twin sons; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Davis; brothers, Glendon Fletcher, Alan Fletcher, Donel Fletcher; and her best friend, Bonnie Akers. According to her wishes, services for Elaine will be Immediate Family only. Burial will take place in Nunica Cemetery.
