Mrs. Elaine M. Tyler's Obituary
Mrs. Elaine M. Tyler, age 83, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon surrounded by her family, May 4, 2012 at her home. She was born September 18, 1928 in Manistique, MI to Fred and Lillian (Paradise) St. John, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She worked as a legal assistant for 35 years, and after retiring worked in the office at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where she was also a member. She enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-in members of the church, sewing, cooking and shopping, but most of all loved being with her family. She also loved her dog Buddy. On July 1, 1950 Elaine married Leland D. Tyler, and he survives her along with 3 children, Betsy (Michael) Ridderman of Muskegon, Mike (Cindy) Tyler of Fremont, Patti (John) Parks of Owenton, KY; 9 grandchildren, Mark, Stephanie, Lisa, Robert, Becky, Diane, Michael, Dustin, and Ryan; 6 great-grandsons; 2 brothers, Wallace (Phyllis) St. John of Iron Mountain, Donald (Dawn) St. John of Manistique; 1 sister, Bernice Archambeault of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; 2 sisters, Betty St. John and Carole VanderMeulen; 1 brother, Warren “Sonny” St. John. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding.
