Mrs. Elaine Vanderlaan-Gouin's Obituary
Elaine Vanderlaan GOUIN, age 87, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
She was born to the late Earl and Ruth (Weathers) Judson in Muskegon on April
23, 1927. In 1945 she was united in marriage with Fredrick G. Vanderlaan
and enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2003. To this union was born: Susan G. Walters of Muskegon; Roger R. Vanderlaan (Linda) of Norco, California; Laurie K. Duplissis (James) of Muskegon. She was a life-long friend to many and loving grandmother to: Jason, James (Leah), Josh, Julie (David), Tyson, Cade and Brock. She also leaves four great grandchildren: Avery, Clare, Drew, and Cady. In 2006, she was joyously united in marriage with Joseph GOUIN, who survives her. This union with the large and loving GOUIN family brought much joy. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Judson. Elaine greatly enjoyed and took pride in her family, entertaining, cooking, gardening, homemaking and her work as a cosmetologist. Her many years motor homing with Fred brought much enjoyment travel and connection with friends. She was a long-time member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May16, 2014 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. Burial will take place in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS to the Laketon Bethel Reformed Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
