At Oakcrest, Eleanor was a great neighbor to our friend, Jim Filgas. If it had not been for her humor and companionship, his life would have been pretty dull there. They looked out for each other. We, also, enjoyed playing "who knows who" with Eleanor and sharing memories of our times in Spring Lake. She will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Eleanor's passing. I had the priveledge of getting to know her in her last years. She was always bright and witty, intelligent with a quick wit. Loved her stories of driving down "the strip" on Harbor revving the engine of her convertible for all the young men only to have them drive up alongside her and realized "they were chasing an old lady", as she put it! She got such a kick out of that. Always looking for fun and humor in her life's circumstances! I'm praying she's revving that engine through the pearly gates right now! And her beloved Dick is there to greet her! Until we meet again Eleanor........??
We had so many good times together it would be difficult to choose one of two to mention. I will miss the laughs we had and all the good times we have had over the years. You were a great girl scout leader, we all enjoyed you so much. A good house mother at our house parties. You really knew how to have a good time. Sorry we won't get together for the picnic you were planning on this month.
I will miss you. Rest in peace.

Eleanor had a home on Oakwood Drive, along with my parents. She is a fond childhood/adult memory and she and my mom, Ruth Ricks, were good friends. After Dick died, Eleanor was always at my mom and dads home for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. I remember her well driving around in her convertible. Her love of animals and the Humane Society was inspiring. She is finally reunited with Dick.
