Mrs. Eleanor Mae Ehrean's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor Mae Ehrean, 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was born February 14, 1926, to Herman and Sena (Kamphuis) DeBoer in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. Eleanor was a member of Unity Reformed Church, where she had been involved with the Women’s Circle and the funeral luncheon committee. Eleanor also enjoyed gardening, travel, reading, and especially spending time with her family. On July 19, 1946, she married Harry Hewitt, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She later married Lloyd Ehrean in 1997 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include three children: Gayle (Rick) Sweet, Susan (Jerry) Chase, Harry (Cathy) Hewitt; six grandchildren: Lisa (Chris) Pesch, Kim (Shawn) Fischer, Steve (Kristy) Sweet, Renee (Rick) Cook, Kevin (Tracey) Knollinger, and Jeffrey Hewitt; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and one on the way. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sherri Sweet, and a sister and brother-in-law Verna and Andy Heethuis. The funeral service for Eleanor will be held Monday, June 5, at 11:00 AM at Unity Reformed Church, 1521 Porter Rd., Norton Shores, 49441. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Ehrean may be made to Unity Reformed Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
