Eleanor Gomery's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor Gomery, age 91, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Grand Rapids. She was born August 5, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York and live most of her adult life in the Muskegon area. On May 5, 1945, she married Steven W. Gomery and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2005. Eleanor worked for 27 years as a clerk for Teledyne-Continental Motors and retired in 1978. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she volunteered for the Altar Society and was active in the Catholic schools. SURVIVORS include her son, Glenn (Cindy) Gomery of Paradise, MI; 2 grandchildren, Steven and Meagan Gomery; and 1 brother, August Sand of Bradenton, FL. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 12:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the Mass in the Victor Miller Room at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy VNS & Hospice, Inc.
