Eleanor Mae Kilcrease's Obituary
Eleanor M. Kilcrease 88, passed away peacefully Sunday morning September 29, 2024 at the home she shared with her daughter Sue and son in law Tom Dexter. As she made her journey to be with her husband of 66 years, she was comforted with her favorite saying, " I love you a bushel and a peck". She was born June 11, 1936 to William and Louisa (Bradberry) Ockenhouse in Wilkes Barre PA. then moved to the Muskegon area 64 years ago. Eleanor enjoyed attending services at Laketon Bethel Church. Her favorite past times included her beloved dog Ellie Mae, talking on the phone to her loved ones, shopping with the "girls", golf cart riding, camping with Sue and Tom, and her Ice Cream socials with her grandkids. On August 2, 1958, Eleanor married Herman (Ray) Kilcrease, Herman preceded her in death on May 29, 2022. She is survived by 6 children, Kathy Woodring, Deb (John) Tjapkes, Sue (Tom) Dexter, John (Donna) Kilcrease, Rhonda (Steve) Grenell, Jeff Kilcrease, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; 1 brother Robert (Patricia) Ockenhouse. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. A service to remember and to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, 1-4 pm at Laketon Bethel Church, 1568 W Giles Rd, N Muskegon 49445. Contributions in Eleanor's honor can be directed to Senior Resources of West Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 East Apple Ave, Muskegon MI 49442.
