Mrs. Eleanor Olga Maggert's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor Olga Maggert, age 101, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Eleanor was born October 22, 1915 in Milwaukee, WI to Henry and Lydia (Jashke) Weich. On June 23, 1939, she married Dayton Maggert and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2003. Eleanor and her husband owned and operated Maggert’s Foods in Muskegon from 1940-1974. She was a longtime member of Hope Reformed Church. Throughout the years, Eleanor enjoyed playing cards with friends, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Marcia (David) Outwin of Fremont and Danora (Robert) Brzezinski of Traverse City; 4 grandchildren; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Warden and Elsie Schillaci. A private family graveside service will be held in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
