Eleanor L. "Ellie" Ryder's Obituary
Eleanor L. “Ellie” Ryder, age 91, met her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 25, 2020. She was born on September 4, 1928 to Harley and Blanche (Abbott) Binns in Brunswick, MI. Ellie was a dedicated employee to Rykes Bakery where she worked as a clerk for 18 years before retiring in 1996. She was a faithful servant to our Lord and a longtime member of Central Assembly of God Church. On August 5, 1950 she married Royce Ryder in Hesperia, MI and together they cherished 55 years of marriage. Ellie was a member of the Pioneer Senior Group and was also a member of the White Lake Shuffleboard Club, where she was a pro. She enjoyed spending her time reading various novels and doing puzzles. She was also a very talented baker, who knew how to fulfill everyone’s sweet-tooth cravings. She was a loving and faithful woman, who was loved by all who knew her. Her tender-loving and motherly-like personality will truly be missed. She is survived by her 5 children; Karen (Gary) Broton, Eileen (Art) Adkins, Mark (Sherri) Ryder, Brian (Kathy) Ryder and Sharon (Dewayne) Davison; 12 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; numerous great and step great-grandchildren; 2 step great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Colleen (Dan) Ellingsworth and Vickie (Jim) Zukiewicz; and dear friend, Suzanne Barham, whom Ellie loved like a daughter. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Royce Ryder and brother, Bill Binns. Due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak concerning social distancing, private family services will be held.
