Eleanor Ruth Weesies' Obituary
Eleanor Ruth Weesies, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Bradenton, FL. She was born on April 1, 1928 to Ralph and Sophie Dykstra in Shelby Twp. She was a graduate of Hackley Hospital School of Nursing. Eleanor was a member of New Era Christian Reformed Church where she took part in women’s fellowship, Sunday School and sang in the choir. She also sang in the Women’s Harmony Notes yearly concerts while in Florida. Eleanor was co-owner of White Lake Greenhouse and Nursery for 53 years with her late husband Wally. She loved to read, knit but most important was spending time with her family. On November 24, 1949 she married Wally Weesies and he preceded her in death in 2013. She is survived by 3 children, Charles Weesies and Kent (Ginny) Weesies both of Whitehall and Ruth Ann (Bryan) Zylstra of Spring Lake; 8 grandchildren, Dexter (Amy) Weesies, Kendra (Nick) Van Andel, Laura (Chris) Bush, April (Evan) Vanderlaan, Kristen (David) Bush, Grant (Stefanie) Zylstra, Jennifer (Wes) Grady and Natasha Weesies; 9 great-grandchildren, Ali Mae & Kya Jade Weesies, Nolan Wallace VanAndel, Bryan David Bush, Lucas Robert Bush, Autumn Grady, Brandon Brooks, Jersey Tolan, Xavier Taylor and sister, Jean Vandenberg of Muskegon; 3 brothers-in-law, Raymond (Myra) Weesies of Bradenton, FL, Wendell (Mary) Weesies of Grand Rapids, and Garry (Mary) Weesies of Montague, 4 sisters-in-law, Donna Veeneman of Muskegon, Mavis Lownds of Montague, Nancy (Jeff) Jeffries of Spring Lake and Marilyn Breuker of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Wednesday April 20th at 11:00 AM at New Era Christian Reformed Church (1820 Ray St.) with Pastor Greg Dyk officiating. VISITATION with the family will be Tuesday April 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Burial will take place at Oakhurst Cemetery in Whitehall.
