Eleanor Agnes (Houseman) Doremire's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor Agnes (Houseman) Doremire, age 80, passed away Friday morning, October 28, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was born February 11, 1931 in Muskegon to George and Helen (Gallagher) Houseman and lived her entire life in the area. On June 24, 1950, she married Melvin Doremire in Muskegon and he survives her. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where she was also active with the St. Julia Circle. Along with her husband, Melvin, SURVIVORS include 5 children, Julie (Ron) Hower, Mary Jo (Thomas) Trenter, Barbara Doremire, Michael (Gina) Doremire, Robert (Debra) Doremire all of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James (Marlene) Houseman of Kent City, Robert Houseman of Grand Haven; 2 sisters, Julia (Jack) Bradfield and Rita (Michael) Weinert both of Muskegon; 5 sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Houseman, Marrianne Houseman, Beatrice Suida, Carol Houseman, and Ruth Schertenlieb. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 brothers, John, Virgil, Raymond and Edward Houseman. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Anthony Britto as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be 5-7:30 PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church.
