Eleanor C. (Shaffer) Widing's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor C. (Shaffer) Widing, age 79, passed away January 20, 2011. She was born September 10, 1931 in Ludington, MI to Emil and Marie (LaBonte) Shaffer and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. In 1952, she married William R. Widing in Muskegon and he passed away in 1963. She had attended Evanston Avenue Baptist Church and was involved in the Life Circles activities at PACE. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters, Sherry Lee Widing, Julie Eleanor Widing and Susan Kay Bentley all of Muskegon; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sally (Dave) Sobolik of Grand Haven, Betty (Harvey) Johnson of Spring Lake; and 1 brother, Dan Shaffer of Tennessee. She was also preceded in death by 3 sons, William Ray Widing, Thomas John Widing, and Steven Mark Widing. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 27, 2011 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 with Rev. Al Engstrom officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 1-2 PM Thursday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.
