Mrs. Eleanor Check, age 79, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at her home. She was born on December 25, 1927 to Michael & Anna (Mehalik) Uhor in Charlevoix, PA. On July 2, 1949 she married, George J. Check in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1987. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include 5 children, George Check, Bob Check, Richard (Vicki) Check, Carol Check, and Debra (Rick) Versalle; 8 grandchildren, Ricky, David, Kara, Kyle, Carey, Nicole, Megan and Michael Check; great-grandson, Jaxon; 1 sister, Emily Borowski, daughter-in-law, Pat Check. Mrs. Check was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth Street) with Rev. Fr. Kenneth Schichtel presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 MEMORIALS to American Cancer Society & Hackley Cancer Center would be appreciated. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
