Eleanor G. Cochran's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor Grace Cochran, age 78, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 at her home in Palm Harbor, Florida. Mrs. Cochran was born October 13, 1930 in Fruitport to Arthur E. and Grace (Nuttall) Loomis and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On July 21, 1950, she married Lloyd E. Cochran and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2007. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she worked 15 years as a claims examiner for the State of Michigan Unemployment Service. She was an active member of Holton United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Club and the De Colores Movement. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Dr. Wesley (Janet) Cochran, Grace (Rev. Paul) Lynn, Debbie (Dan) Breejen, Lloyd C. (Cindy) Cochran, Joni (Dave) Ryan; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Virginia Larabee, Elberta Morse, Bonnie Baker; and 1 sister-in-law, Gladys Loomis. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Robert Paul Cochran, 1 grandson, Lloyd C. Cochran Jr., 1 brother and 3 sisters. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2009 at Holton United Methodist Church (9530 Holton Duck Lake Rd.), with Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
