Eleanor G. "Gwen" Vallee's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor G. “Gwen” Vallee, age 83, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Dayspring Assisted Living. She was born on May 29, 1927 in Battle Creek, MI to Roland and Julia (Sandburn) VanDenberg, and resided in Muskegon all of her married life. Gwen loved gardening and the outdoors, along with crafting, crocheting and quilting. She was a past member of VFW #7729, and the Ladies of the Moose Lodge of Muskegon. On January 25, 1947 she married James M. Vallee in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1980. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Susan Perry of Muskegon, James (Pamala) Vallee of Fruitport and Jacqueline (Mark) Church of Twin Lake; 9 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Emma Joy (Lewis) Bishop of Fremont, MI, Delores (E.J.) Porter of Mesa, AZ; 2 brothers, Ervin (Vivian) VanDenberg of Massillon, OH, and Richard “Bud” Warren of California. Gwen was also preceded in death by 1 sister, Roberta Middlecamp. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Scott Church officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Tuesday. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Senior Resources will be appreciated.
